The HTC Advantage Has Landed

CompUSA and Amazon are the two best places to be right now.  HTC released the Advantage and boy, is it looking good.  5 inches of screen plus WM 6 native, AND it's a handy notebook replacement?  I couldn't ask for anything better!  Well...maybe...don't work too hard HTC, I still have ideas.  You can grab this puppy for $899.

Aug 8th:  Looks like sales are doing well, they dropped the price a little bit more.  You can now get it for $849.99 on Amazon.

@ Fritzly:  It's my understanding that it requires a SIM.

Sorry, I should have elaborated a little more:

the vast majorities of cellular phones sold in the US are Sim-locked or tied to the carriers that sell it. Besides the inability to use it with other providers quite often some features of the device are crippled in order to have the user utilizing only ring tones and other services offered by the carriers.

Unfortunately I cannot be more detailed becuase I never bought one of these crippled phones...

Basically it is like OEM software, another big scam.

I understood your question, it was just a matter of how to explain it.  Sorry i was too brief.  Looking through the documentation, it looks like it requires a SIM, but it's not sold through any specific carrier.  Thus, you could use it on any carrier that uses a SIM (AT&T, T-Mobile, any existing Tracphone SIM).  It's unlocked, and unbranded, non-carrier related, but for network usage, it has to have a SIM.  It's kind of a cop-out, I know, but with 3G on the barrel in AT&T, it shouldn't be too bad.
