Welcome to the not-quite-the-weekend edition of The Vista Daily. Thursdays are typically quiet, so not much happened today. There's still a few items of note, so here we go!

• Microsoft is researching the possibility of releasing an update to FrontPage Extensions to work on Vista & Longhorn. Unfortunately, ASP is not as dead as we'd all like it to be.
• Target moves their location searches to MapPoint & Virtual Earth. It's good to see this platform gaining traction. Now if only Microsoft would reduce the fees for geocoding...
• Have you seen DinnerNow.net? It's good to see a straightforward Microsoft sample app that demonstrates the promise of .NET 3.0 and Web 2.0 concepts.
• Introducing Windows Live Hotmail. I suspect the change was more about differentiating between Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, and Windows Live Mail Desktop, but it has the added benefit of maintaining a well-known brand. [via MSTechToday]
