I know what you mean though. Im a bit of a crack-aid-boy myself but I think there is a big distinction between someone that can be considered a fanboy and someone that appreciates a company but has no mercy when said company takes a wrong step.
Your interview reminded me about my history with computers. Screwing with the Apple IIe growing up in school and then I found a Basic book in my school library so I could write software for my Commodore 128. Yes, I was using a Commodore when the 486 was around, it was a hand me down and my dad didnt want me screwing up his shiny new Packard Bell!
