• WinFX Sept CTP Will Not Install on Vista 5231 - ANSWER

  The WinFX Sept CTP will not install on 5231 rendering this build of Vista useless for anything other than eye candy. In that department, the Windows Key-Spacebar stacking windows 3D thingie is gone too. Fab (-. Anyone from Microsoft know if there will be a new WinFX SDK anytime soon that works? Thanks so much for the prompt answer from Rob Ralyea on the Avalon team that this build doesn't and will not have a matching WinFX version. The great news is that “The good news is that we have since fixed this problem, so all future Windows Vista public releases will include WinFX with it.” Thank you![:)]

• Vista 5213 Up with Glass

  My Vista 5231 install is up with the Aero Glass experience (blogging from it). Once again, install was flawless with just two choices. The new features of IE7 are great but the Windows Media 11 (although it's still labeled 10) user experience is just real sweet!

• Vista Build 5231 (October CTP) is Out!!

  Its out on Microsoft Connect and MSDN Subscriber! Also check out Paul's summary here which lists new fatures like fully functioning version of Windows Media Player (WMP) 11, the Vista version of Media Center, a new Network Center, and other features that weren't available in previous builds! There is also a new SDK which I hope is a new WinFX SDK Nope it's a platform SDK - who wants old unmanaged stuff?? Robert McLaws has excellent coverage here as well.
