Want to know what's been updated? Just visit the site and you can already see some things have changed. But Erik Porter talks about the updates in more detail that have been made this evening on his blog. Tonight's update to MicrosoftGadgets.com is Erik's first major release at Microsoft, and I'm sure there's going to be bigger ones coming up in the future. Nice job Erik. Adam Kinney also worked on tonights update for MicrosoftGadgets.com.

Both Adam and Erik did tonight's update while playing Xbox 360 games at Jeff Sandquist's house with Robert Scoble and his son.

Another neat thing: Scoble points out MicrosoftGadgets.com is the first Microsoft site to feature user tagging.

Today's Events: My After Thoughts

Today has been an awesome day. We are seeing the rise of "Live" Software coming from Microsoft - in a way splitting MSN up. The Windows Live Software will supply the Services while MSN will continue supply Content like MSNBC - an example Leah from the Windows Live Messenger blog used earlier today. All the new Windows Live services are centered around Live.com. So no more MSN Messenger, and hello Windows Live Messenger. We also learned that Windows OneCare Live fits into the Windows Live Services perfectly - answering the question of where OneCare will fit in Microsoft's overall plan. Last night, we saw the emergence of an incredibly updated MicrosoftGadgets.com with new Live Gadgets Gallery for Live.com. Everyone is waiting for the Windows Sidebar and Desktop Gadgets technology coming with Windows Vista Beta 2, but before that, we've got an awesome web service of Web Gadgets to use in the mean time. These Web Gadgets essentially plug right into Live.com!

I'd like to apologize greatly for the amount of blogging I've done in the past two days. It might seem a bit excessive. I'm not sure what Robert thinks yet. I sent him an email this evening asking if I've annoyed the heck out of him with my excessive blogging. I'm genuinely excited about all these new Live Services coming from Microsoft. I love new technology. The only way I am able to convey my excitment and enthusiasm is via my blogging here at LonghornBlogs.

Here are the main pieces I'm really focused on that have come out of the last two days:

Microsoft Gadgets: Web and Desktop (I'm a "Sidebar Geek" remember!)

Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live

Windows OneCare Live

I give a big shout out to Jeff Sandquist and Adam Kinney who spent most of last night working on MicrosoftGadgets.com. I admire Adam's work immensely. His design work on MicrosoftGadgets.com is a BIG motivation for me. Adam - you rock! Also, a big shout out to Sanaz Ahari who's been terribly sick this week - I admire her very much. She was able to ship out Live.com while going through pretty much what looked like to be a hell of a week. No I'm not brown nosing. These people rock and are awesome. Plain and simple. I highly doubt any of them have the time to read this blog so I've linked to all their blogs - PLEASE go there and say thank you for their hard work!

Of course now, the big question is how will all this new "Live" Services tie in with Windows Vista? I look forward to seeing what's going to happen. These are my thoughts this evening. Time for bed. Time to wind down a bit? Nah. Never.
